Mise En Scene:
Camera shots:
camera shots, angles and movement can be used as part of mise- en scene in many ways. Different shots can be used metaphorically within the scene, such as high angle or birds eye shots being used to make the character seem smaller or as a religious reference such as a good looking down on them, or a low angle shot with the opposite affect of the character seeming larger and more of an authority. the movement of the camera and lens can also be used within mise en scene, in many similar ways. for example the classic from jaws in which the camera zooms out whilst tracking forward, to distort the background of the image while the character remains the same size within the shot. this is used metaphorically because the beach is being attacked by the shark, 'Distorted', while the people remain unaware and contain normally.
