Sound research-

The function of sound in films is used for three major purposes;

• simulating reality 
• creating illusion 
• mood

Due to our film being a thriller, we wanted the music in our film to create suspense and drama to a rather boring film opening that it would be without the music. Having come across many websites with different music and sound options, incompetech.com seemed like the best option.

The website has a sidebar with different option regarding the genre of music and the particular mood one might go for. 

Because the genre of our film has to be a thriller, when selecting a thriller suitable sound, one might choose the genre rock or even horror, to create extra terror. The mood could be dark or eerie, as well as unnerving or intense.

Selecting suspensefull and eerie, the website came up with a few different results, one of them being a sound file called Evening of Chaos by Kevin MacLeod. Out of all that I personally researched and looked into this was my favorite as it reminded me a lot of the American Horror Story opening titles soundtrack. the eeriness and occasionally loud noise giving the sound file mystery and a terrifying feel. I though that this sound file would have suited and could be matched well with our title sequence idea.
