Panther Hunting initial ideas:
For our thriller idea of Panther hunting. Our idea was loosely based on the urban legend surrounding our local area. The story goes that a wealthy man living on Blue Bell Hill owned a large number of exotic pets, his favourite being a black Panther. The Owner mistreated the animal and the RSPCA came too confiscate his pets. So he released the panther, his favourite, in the hope that he would recapture it. The story ends when he can't find it again once the RSPCA have left.
Our story would be set in the late 1980's when the man hires a hunter to recapture the Panther for him. The introduction would follow his initial search for the panther. This would be quite a simple preproduction process as location scouting would not take very long. We already have idea for a short dialogue sequence, but as it focuses on solitary hunter any other dialogue would be through narrated exposition.
The films main cinema graphic idea would be based around long establishing shots and then the suspense would build through the use of worms eye level shots circling around the hunter in the bushes to build suspense. These worms eye view shots would be one of the key elements of the film as it would demonstrate the view of the Panther.
The main character would of course be the hunter. We cannot decided wheater the character would be a hero or an anti-hero. The hero hunter would be a social outcast being forced to find the panther through blackmail. The Anti-hero character would be a violent person whom is uncontrollable and volatile. We think both would be interesting to portray.
